Jaffa : encourageons le vote ! | Get Out the Vote !

🇫🇷 Lancement de la campagne J-7 à Jaffa !
De notre envoyé spécial à Tel Aviv, Ariel / FoST France Europe / from our special correspondant from Tel Aviv, Ariel / FoST France Europe
« Aujourd’hui c’est possible ! – Votons et influençons. »
🇬🇧 Launching the D-7 campaign in Jaffa!
« THIS TIME WE CAN – Vote and Influence. »
Arabs and Jews together at our get-out-the-vote event at Jaffa’s Youth Center.
🎤 We heard from:
• Ziad Semani, a bereaved father whose son was murdered leaving four young children, expressed his pain and urges people to vote, so that no family has to go through such a tragedy.
• Liza Qom’a, an activist, shared about raising her children in poverty, afraid they could be harmed by a terror attack, a war or criminal violence and her actions.
• Itamar Avneri, Standing Together co-founder and Tel Aviv-Yafo city councillor described how a higher vote turnout can make a change and save lives in Jaffa, in Israel and in Palestine.
• Rula Daood, head of a Place for Us All party and Standing Together former co-director shared her meeting with youngsters in the Galilee earlier that day, determined to get their parents to vote this time, for their own future.
Alongside the pain and fear, one shared belief: change is possible, we deserve to live in safety and dignity, and together we can act. 💜
📰 In the presence of Le Monde journalist Isabelle Mandraud:
On Tuesday, October 20, in a mixed neighborhood of Jaffa—the former cultural capital of Palestine, now absorbed into Tel Aviv—the Arab-Jewish movement « Standing Together » mobilized its activists with the message: « Khalas! (‘Enough!’), we will all go out to vote on the 27th [of October]. » Traumatized by the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, and by the subsequent destruction of Gaza in retaliation, Liza Kouma—an Arab mother of seven who has since become an activist—shared that she intends to vote for « The Democrats » party.
